Lenten is a period that precedes Easter in the Catholic liturgical season. This period covers 40 days without counting Sundays, or 44 days (including Sundays) before Good Friday. It begins on Ash Wednesday with various liturgy until it ends on Holy Thursday, before the commemoration of 3 very important events, namely the death of Jesus on Good Friday, followed by his burial in the tomb, and His resurrection from the dead on Easter Sunday.

Lenten is a time of fasting, prayer and penitence, and is a time of grace and opportunity for us to open our hearts to God who always accompanies, guides and strengthens us.
